KINGFISHR earn their second #1 single with The Sun Will Never Settle!π
KINGFISHR top the IRMA Singles Chart
Folk-trio KINGFISHR top the IRMA Singles Chart today with The Sun Will Never Settle , their second Irish #1! It follows Killeagh, which spent 17 weeks at #1, second only to Riverdance in Irish Chart history, and accumulated 58 weeks in the top 10 in total. It became the biggest track of 2025 in Ireland and is certified almost five times platinum.
Released via B-Unique/Atlantic Records and produced by David Curley at Grouse Lodge Studios in County Westmeath, The Sun Will Never Settle is the band’s second single of 2026, following The Blade earlier this spring. It premiered as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record. Eddie Keogh has described the song as being about the end of a relationship and being better for the experience: “If you’re lucky enough to end a relationship and both be better people as a result, you are part of a very prestigious club.”
The band released their debut album Halcyon in August 2025. It debuted at #1 in Ireland, returning to the top spot at Christmas, and peaked at #5 in the UK. They closed the year with two sold-out nights at Dublin’s 3Arena before a fully sold-out UK run this spring, including two nights at London’s Brixton Academy.
