CMAT wins Ivor Novello Award for Best Album while Drake lands his fifth #1 with Iceman!

CMAT won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Album at the 2026 ceremony at Grosvenor House

CMAT won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Album at the 2026 ceremony at Grosvenor House, London on Thursday night, taking the prize for Euro-Country. It is her first win at the Ivors, having been previously nominated in 2024 for Crazymad, for Me. She beat Lily Allen, Olivia Dean, Wolf Alice, and Jim Legxacy to the award.

Accepting the award, CMAT said: “It’s really nice to finally win an award in England. English people don’t generally give me awards, so that’s a first. I’m actually a big fan of the man, Ivor Novello, himself as well.” She also referenced Amy Winehouse, who won best song musically and lyrically for Love Is a Losing Game at the same ceremony when CMAT was around ten years old.

Euro-Country topped the Irish Albums Chart upon release in September 2025, beating Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend in a close-run chart battle, and reached #2 in the UK. The album went on to win the RTÉ Choice Music Prize Album of the Year in March this year, with CMAT also taking Irish Artist of the Year on the same night. It was her second Choice Music Prize win, having previously taken the award in 2022 for If My Wife New I’d Be Dead.
