CMAT wins the RTÉ Choice Music Prize Irish Album of the Year with EURO-COUNTRY!

The RTÉ Choice Music Prize celebrated Irish music released during 2025

The RTÉ Choice Music Prize took place last night at Vicar Street in Dublin, celebrating Irish music released during 2025. Tracey Clifford hosted the live event in the venue, while Beta Da Silva presented the broadcast on RTÉ 2FM.

The main award, Irish Album of the Year, went to CMAT for her album EURO-COUNTRY, her second time receiving the honour after her debut album If My Wife New I’d Be Dead won in 2022. The prize was presented on stage by Barry Devlin of Horslips, whose 1973 record The Táin was also recognised during the ceremony as this year’s Classic Irish Album. Along with the award, CMAT receives a €10,000 cash prize provided by IRMA and IMRO. She also picked up the Irish Artist of the Year award on the night.

Released on 29 August 2025 via AWAL, EURO-COUNTRY debuted at #1 on the IRMA Official Albums Chart on release, holding off Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend to take the top spot for her third consecutive Irish #1.
