THE WEEKND tops the Albums Chart following sold-out Croke Park shows!

The Weeknd tops the Irish Albums Chart today with The Highlights, his greatest hits compilation, following his two sold-out shows at Croke Park on 22 and 23 August, which drew a combined crowd of over 160,000 to Jones’ Road across the weekend. Originally released in February 2021 via XO/Republic Records, the compilation previously topped the Irish Charts in March 2023, becoming his third Irish #1 album after 2020’s After Hours and 2022’s Dawn FM. The singer topped the charts for a fourth time with Hurry Up Tomorrow (2025).

The 18-track compilation spans his career from debut mixtape House of Balloons (2011) through to After Hours (2020), drawing on his three Billboard 200 #1 studio albums Beauty Behind the Madness (2015), Starboy (2016), and After Hours (2020), as well as collaborations with Ariana Grande on Love Me Harder and Kendrick Lamar on Pray for Me. A deluxe edition released in February 2024 expanded the tracklist to include material from Dawn FM (2022) and the soundtrack to his television series The Idol (2023).

The After Hours Til Dawn Tour, now in its fourth year, has grossed over $1 billion across 153 shows and sold 5.1 million tickets since launching in 2022, making it the biggest R&B tour in history. The live show ran to nearly 40 songs across two hours, taking in hits including I Feel It Coming, The Hills, and Blinding Lights, alongside deeper cuts such as The Abyss and House of Balloons. Playboi Carti supported on both nights, also joining The Weeknd on stage for their collaborations Timeless and RATHER LIE. The Dublin dates followed five sold-out nights at Wembley Stadium. The tour continues across Europe and Asia before wrapping in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 5 November.
