The Script score their ninth Irish #1 album with The User’s Guide to Being Human!

The Script debut at #1 on the IRMA Albums Chart today with The User's Guide to Being Human, their eighth studio album, released 14 August via BMG. It is their ninth Irish number one overall, including their 2008 compilation Tales from the Script: Greatest Hits, placing them third on the all-time list of acts with the most Irish number one albums, behind Taylor Swift (12) and Bruce Springsteen (10).

Recorded in Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles, the 11 track album sees Danny O'Donoghue reunite with longtime songwriting collaborators Andrew Frampton and Steve Kipner, as well as producer and songwriter Jimbo Barry, who have all previously worked with the band on tracks including Breakeven, The Man Who Can't Be Moved and Hall of Fame. The album's production credits also include Dan Frampton and Randy Merrill, among others. Lead single Man In The Arena, inspired by Theodore Roosevelt's famous speech of the same name, was released ahead of the album, followed by second single The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall, a nod to the communal experience of music inspired in part by the Oasis reunion shows last year.

The album is accompanied by a series of short-form films directed by Charles Mehling, depicting interconnected stories of ordinary life that combine into a short film, in place of traditional music videos.
