ASHE lands her first #1 with Stop the Wedding!
California singer-songwriter ASHE reaches #1 on the Official Irish Singles Chart this week with Stop The Wedding!, her first Irish chart-topper and first number one anywhere in the world! The single, released on August 7 via Atlantic Records and debuting at #49 on the Irish Charts, marked her debut with the label following a period of independence, during which she released her third album Willson (2024) and the collaborative project The Dream (2025) with Finneas under the name The Favors.
Stop The Wedding! was produced by Noah Conrad, whose credits include Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan, and written by Ashe alongside Conrad and Annika Bennett, a frequent collaborator with ROLE MODEL and Conan Gray. The song was inspired by Ashe's own wedding day last year, when she married fellow musician John Clark Canada outside Nashville. The music video, directed by Silken Weinberg, leans into a 1940s film noir aesthetic. The single was named BBC Radio 1's Tune of the Week on August 31 and has accumulated over 15 million Spotify streams in its first three weeks.
The single is the lead track from Ashe's fourth studio album The Girl of Your Dreams, out October 16 on Atlantic Records, an 11-track record produced throughout by Noah Conrad and recorded between November 2025 and July 2026. A second single, Funeral, followed on September 3. The album is Ashe's first with a major label, having previously released on Mom + Pop Records and independently. She has since signed to Atlantic and to Finneas's publishing company Doomsday, administered by UMG.
