SABRINA CARPENTER moves into the top spot with her new album Man’s Best Friend

SABRINA CARPENTER moves into the top spot this week with her seventh studio album Man’s Best Friend, having been kept at #2 last week by CMAT’s Euro-Country in a close-run race! The album is a follow up to 2024’s Short n’ Sweet, which spent a whopping 20 weeks at #1 on the Irish Albums Chart, and produced three #1 singles with Espresso, Please Please Please, and Taste, making it the most listened-to album of 2025 so far in Ireland.

Man’s Best Friend was released on 29 August through Island Records and features production from Jack Antonoff, known for his work with Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, and Lorde, and John Ryan, known for this work with One Direction and Maroon 5. The album has already delivered multiple hit singles on the Official Irish Singles Chart. Lead track Manchild debuted at #1, while Carpenter currently has three tracks in the Top 10: Tears at #5, Nobody’s Son at #8, and When Did You Get Hot at #10.

Meanwhile, President Michael D. Higgins debuts at #3 on the Official Irish Albums Chart with his spoken-word album Against All Certainty. Released via Claddagh Records, the album features ten poems, many drawn from his published collections including The Betrayal, The Season of Fire, An Arid Season, and New and Selected Poems. It was recorded at Áras an Uachtaráin in collaboration with ambient musician and producer Myles O’Reilly, and is available on CD, vinyl, hardback-book CD edition, and digital formats.
